Seisui Naito, the Kenpachi of the Gotei 13, is known by many names. The most common of these titles is 'the Ghost', a title which has followed him since his first days in the 11th Division. Initially, the nickname was rooted in his pale skin and his tendency to stay silent and far from the public limelight. But once his rapid advancement began, and his public duels with the seated members of his division gained attention, the name changed its meaning to represent his Shikai. With the ability to shift through solid matter, much like a ghost, the previously mocking name became something legendary. Ever since, he has worn it with no complaints, and as many people call him by that moniker as they do his real name.
