Hanjimono Kin: The Emerald of Bahn

Hanjimono Kin

Known as the most intelligent individual in Soul Society, Hanjimono Kin, Captain of the 12th Division, was born in a forest-city beyond Rukongai named Bahn. Established after the Isseki Rebellion to help secure a new source of water, Bahn is a city of ease and wealth. It is considered an excellent vacation spot for many of the noble families. Kin was raised in that luxury and still has a tendency to ignore societal inequality, instead focusing on his own addiction to his Shikai and the pursuit of knowledge and perfection. He is, however, a young man (by Shinigami standards) who is venerated by his hometown as the first Captain to come from its relatively small population. Any negative qualities he may have are looked over by those who knew him before his fame.
